  • The Teacher-Scholar Program (TSP) is part of the "EXPANDING CONNECTIONS IN SCIENCE EDUCATION" project, which seeks to strengthen K-12 science education in Ashland, Holmes, and Wayne Counties. The TSP connects science majors, "Scholars", at the College of Wooster (COW) with elemenary teachers who attended our summer Science Education Workshops with in-class science instruction during spring semester. The Wooster Science Education Center (WSEC) Director manages the TSP and contributes $100 to help each participating teacher meet their instructional needs to address the Ohio State science standards.

The TSP offers something special to each participant:

-Scholars: Receive hourly wages, increase your science knowledge by teaching others, share and apply your science knowledge in a real world setting, and explore working with children as a career opportunity.

-Teachers: Bring a science major into your classroom, use the Scholar and supply funds ($100) to develop new and interesting science learning opportunities for your students or supplement current instructional needs, get involved with the WSEC, and share your profession with a student.
